Labels and filters are amazing features by GMAIL.
Difference Between Labels and Filters
Though both the functionalities end up in email management but there is a minor difference between two. Let us first look at what exactly are these.
Labels are parallel to folders. Just like the folders you have in your computer, labels are the folders in Gmail. The way you distribute, sort out your data in folders on your computer, the same way you can sort out your emails under different labels.
Labels make it easy to pull out emails from a particular sender, having specific words/names, etc.
Filters on the other hand provides a path or a gateway to the incoming emails. It kind of navigates all the incoming messages by directing them where to land.
